History
The Plowman name is well known in Hawkes Bay. William Plowman migrated to New Zealand from Manchester, England in 1871 on the ship St Leonards and settled in Napier. William established W. Plowman and Sons Ltd. and manufactured bottled water, soft drinks, cordials and sauces from the company’s premises in Battery Road, Napier.
Since then the extended Plowman family have been educated, farmed or otherwise worked in Hawkes Bay for well over a century and continue to thrive and multiply! With children and grandchildren now spread far and wide across the globe, Waiana offers a place for everyone to return to.
